In the summer of 2010, I visited Texas for 10 days, traveling between Ft. Worth and Austin, visiting the legendary Schlitterbahn (crap) water park and taking in all the grandeur of America’s most misunderstood state. Seriously, Texas is great.
My parents have visited on and off and heralded the retirement city’s all-encompassing greatness with only the zeal that a paid marketer could otherwise put forth. In March of 2011 I toured the small city of sometimes 80,000, sometimes 40% less, and eventually 60% more. It’s not all moonbeams and candy when you’re 23, but for some reason old white people just love it.
