Organic Hockey Diet Kinda Misses the Point

In my crusade against bad logic here’s a quick post in response to this Treehugger article. Organic steak and wild salmon and whole milk organic yogurt. Oh what a good boy!
How about Georges Laraque, PETA activist and all-around NHL enforcer? Totally vegan, and huge! I know there’s an Islanders player or Blues player that was, maybe, on Team USA as well this past olympics? I can’t find him online but he’s another high-scoring vegetarian.
And the no beer jab, just… Google Tarahumara.
The only meaninful benefit from a hockey player’s perspective to eating organic is that you’re eating less pesticides, and certainly no synthetic pesticides, but there are still toxic pesticides used in Organic foods. Now, if you want to talk about the benefit of cutting out bullshit food ingredients and eating whole foods (regardless of Organic certification) then I think we’re cooking with fire.
