Pakistan Discovers Internet, Finds Offensive; Bans It

The Pakistan Telecommunications Authority blocked YouTube on Thursday and Facebook on Wednesday.  Wikipedia was also largely restricted.

The PTA blocked Facebook because of:

anger over a page on the social networking site that encourages users to post images of Islam’s Prophet Muhammad.

YouTube was banned because of general “sacrilegious” content and Wikipedia’s block occurred because of a glitch.

Hey, Facebookers.  Today is Everybody Draw Mohammed Day!  Keep it clean and disrespectful.
